I am going to take you on a step by step guide on how to make money online from blogging. These steps are based on my personal experience and I would follow the same procedure again and again if I had to create a fresh blog once more.
Step One: Pick a Blog Topic or Niche - Picking a topic is the most important decision a blogger needs to make and I would recommend the following few things below:
a. Pick a topic on something you have average and reasonable idea on.
b. Select a blog topic in the field of your interest area and as vast as possible. Let’s take for instance; instead of narrowing your topic down by making a blog on weight loss hints, it would be wiser to make blog on a more collective topic like Health and Fitness. The reason for selecting a collective topic like that is plain – you focus a wider audience and thereby increasing your chances of getting huge visitors. It is important and very necessary. Get the point I made there?
Step Two: Establish a regular routine for yourself. Though it may not be possible to blog everyday, but make a decision of how much of your time to put weekly or if possible daily on blogging and similar online activities. A lot of people have full time jobs, and for this type, I suggest writing at least 4 to 6 blog posts per week. One per day with at least 350 words or more would be excellent.
Step Three: Submit your post to http://blogcarnival.com. This can be easily done. Its importance includes – it helps to drive valuable blog traffic and it also increases your page ranking. Taking these minor steps will have enormous effect on the amount you will make online through blogging.
Step Four: When you must have posted about 20-26 articles in your blog, go and get account each with the following because they will be helpful in actualizing your dream of making money online from blogging.
1. Google Adsense Account - Sign up for an adsense account and come to the section on this blog that shows free tips on making cash with google adsense. This should be your early source of making money from blogging.
2. Paypal Account – This account is necessary for making and receiving some payments from transactions you make online.
3. Hubpages – This can be considered optional, but it helps a lot in Search Engine Optimization and traffic issues.
4. SiteMeter or StatCounter – They are useful in monitoring your daily traffic to your blog.
Now I believe I’ve touched the necessary steps. When you properly follow my above steps, some positive action will definitely commence. Start watching and study your daily traffic to know the specific keywords that brought them to your blog.
